Loctite 37518 is LOCTITE® SI 598—an oxime-cure, metallic-black, one-part RTV silicone formulated for form-in-place gasketing on rigid or stamped metal flanges. It cures on exposure to ambient moisture to form a tough, flexible rubber gasket with excellent resistance to automotive engine oils, resists aging and thermal cycling without hardening or cracking, and is typically used from −65 °F to 500 °F (−54 °C to 260 °C) on oil pans, transmission pans, valve covers, timing gear covers, and differential covers; not recommended where parts contact gasoline.
